Four people, including a married couple, were found dead at their Greater Noida residence on Friday. Police said that prima facie it appears to be a case of “death due to suffocation”.
All of them were natives from Hathras and lived in rented accommodation in a single room in Tushyana village, Gautam Buddha Nagar. The incident happened under the jurisdiction limits of Ecotech 3 police station.
The deceased have been identified as Chandresh, his wife Nisha, brother Rajesh, and sister Bubli.
Suniti, deputy commissioner of police (Central Noida) said that Rajesh used to sell food in a cart and Chandresh worked for a food delivery company, reports The Indian Express.
Police said that after they were informed, a police team broke the door of the house, as it was locked from inside, and recovered the bodies.
Something was put on the stove and the knob of the cylinder was turned on, and the gas spread to the house from there.
Probe in the case is underway and members of their family have been informed.
