In a major anti-terror drive, the Jammu and Kashmir police has recovered 350 kgs of explosives, an AK-47 and a large cache of ammunition from a hospital in Haryana’s Faridabad, which is part of Delhi-NCR. The seizure was made on the inputs of a Kashmiri doctor, who was last month arrested from UP’s Saharanpur for allegedly putting up posters backing terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in Srinagar.
Officials reportedly said this was one the biggest ammunition haul they have ever busted. Apart from 350 kgs of ammonium nitrate, the cops have recovered assault rifles and timers, reported NDTV citing Faridabad Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta.
The crime branch of the Faridabad police have now reached the spot. The explosives are IED-making material and ammunition, the cops said.

How was recovery made?
The cops acted on the information provided by the arrested doctor, Adil Ahmad Rather, and raided Al Falah Hospital in Faridabad. It was there they made the huge recovery and also arrested another doctor employed there, Dr Muzamil Shakeel, an India Today report said.
The police are interrogating Rather for his alleged role in storing and facilitating weapons to other areas in the country. After his arrest, the police had checked his locker at the Government Medical College, where he worked till October last year, they found an AK-47 rifle and other ammunition.
Immediately, they began questioning Rather, and within days (he was arrested in Oct last week), the police have been able to work on his information and recover the huge amount of explosives.
As for Rather, he has been charged under the Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, and a probe is underway to find out about his entire network.
According to India Today, both doctors have been brought back to Jammu and Kashmir and will remain in police custody. The seizure hints at a large conspiracy of explosion that may have been planned for Delhi-NCR, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the motive of storing 350 kgs of RDX.
