The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has debunked a claim that has been widely circulated on the Pakistani propaganda accounts that India’s Deputy Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Rahul R Singh, admitted to being “defeated” by Pakistan’s electronic warfare and Chinese C4 intelligence technology.
One of the social media accounts shared a picture of Lt Gen Singh and stated: “Pakistan’s electronic warfare and C4 intelligence capability truly surprised us, and the Chinese technology played a big role in defeating India.” Similar statements were shared by other accounts with the “breaking” tag: “Indian general said Pakistan used Chinese Technology that played a big role in defeating India.”
“Top Indian military general says Pakistan’s electronic warfare and C4 intelligence capability truly surprised us,” a propaganda post by yet another account read.
These statements have been widely shared on social media platforms, with some posts alleging that the remarks were made in the context of Operation Sindoor.
PIB clarified that no such remarks were made by Lt Gen Singh and called the claims completely baseless. “This is Fake! No such statement has been made by the Deputy Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Rahul R Singh,” PIB Fact Check said on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

What was actually said
Lt Gen Rahul R Singh, an experienced artillery officer with over 34 years of service, currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Capability Development & Sustenance). He recently spoke at a public event about Operation Sindoor, describing it as a “precise strike to avoid war,” where the selection of targets was based on extensive data, including technology and human intelligence.
“China provides all possible support to Pakistan, and it’s no surprise because if you look at statistics, in the last five years, 81% of the military hardware that Pakistan is getting is all Chinese,” Lt Gen Rahul R Singh said on Friday.
Adding to that, he said, “When the DGMO level talks were going on, Pakistan was getting live inputs of our deployment from China. So that is one place we really need to move fast and take appropriate action.”
He emphasised the strategic clarity of India’s leadership in sending a strong message that crossing red lines would invite punitive action.
During his remarks, Lt Gen Singh acknowledged that Pakistan receives substantial military hardware and support from China and Turkey, noting that 81% of Pakistan’s military equipment is Chinese and that China provides real-time intelligence support.
However, he did not state that Pakistan’s electronic warfare or C4 intelligence capabilities defeated India, nor did he express surprise at their effectiveness. His comments were factual and focused on operational planning and strategic messaging, not on conceding defeat or praising adversary capabilities.
The viral posts attributed to him are misleading and not supported by any official record. PIB has confirmed that these are fabricated claims with no basis in fact. People are advised to rely on verified sources and official statements to avoid falling for misinformation.
