What are exit polls?
Exit polls are carried out by private organizations and they aim to forecast election results before official announcements by interviewing voters about their choices as they exit polling stations. This methodology operates under the belief that querying a voter immediately after casting their vote yields fresh and more truthful responses. It differs from pre-election polls. Although exit polls have been inaccurate in various instances, they continue to enjoy widespread popularity in India.
