Days after Nitish Kumar left the grand alliance and joined the BJP-led NDA again, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad Yadav on Friday said that his “doors are always open” for the Janata Dal (United) chief.
On being asked whether he would give Nitish another chance, the RJD chief said, “Let him come back. Then we will see (jab aaenge tab dekha jaaega).”
Pressed further on whether the doors were still open for Nitish, who has ditched him for the second time, causing his son and heir apparent Tejashwi Yadav to lose the Deputy CM’s post on both occasions, Lalu responded: “these are always open (khula hi rahta hai)”.
On Thursday, the two leaders, who are also arch rivals, were seen warmly shaking hands inside the Vidhan Sabha premises.
Meanwhile, JD(U) chief spokesman and MLC Neeraj Kumar said that there is “no question of going back”, as the RJD has always been involved in corruption.
