Himanshi, wife of Indian Navy Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who was killed in the Pahalgam terror attack made a statement for the media ahead of what appeared to be a blood donation drive. She overtly mentioned that she was not against Kashmiris or Muslims. Her strong appeal for justice was accompanied by a call for peace among the communities and urging to end communal tiffs. She said, “of course we want justice but we want peace, and only peace” after urging people to not go against “Kashmiris and Muslims”.

The Pahalgam terror attack has taken over 25 lives of innocent tourists including Indian Navy Lieutenant Vinay Narwal. Brutally killed on the basis of religion, terrorists took out unarmed individuals after picking apart Hindus.

Reacting to the post made on social media by several media agencies, a user commented “Himanshi’s courage is deeply moving — her call for peace reflects a brave heart. But let’s be clear: the fear and anger people feel is real. We don’t want hate — we want security. Terrorists who spill innocent blood must face uncompromising justice. India must act — not just mourn”.

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah strongly condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, attributing it to both security lapses and Pakistan’s deliberate attempt to destabilise the region. He criticised Pakistan’s propaganda and Army Chief General Asim Munir’s remarks on the two-nation theory, calling them provocative. Expressing support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s response, Abdullah said Pakistan failed to consider how such violence would impact Muslims in India. “This was not just a failure of security, but a calculated move by Pakistan,” he said.

As an aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, Pakistani nationals residing in India were asked to depart. As of Wednesday, 125 Pakistani nationals departed India via the border, bringing the seven-day total to 911. Additionally, 15 Indian citizens with Pakistani visas also crossed into Pakistan, taking that total to 23. The Attari-Wagah Border remains completely shut as the movement has come to a complete halt on Thursday, May 1.
