Telangana Election 2023 Latest News: As Telangana nears Assembly Election dates, the Election Commision of India has started the preparation for the polls. The ECI announced on Monday that a team of officials with Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj will be visiting Telangana as a part of a three-day tour. The aim of the visit is to ensure election readiness and to hold an official talk with local people.

At present, Telangana is governed by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi whose tenure is ending in January 2024. The state is scheduled to hold Assembly election to choose its next government. Telangana is the battlefield of three national parties, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, and three times winner BRS, which makes the 2023 elections more important.

As per reports, the three-day tour is scheduled from October 3 to October 5. The first day will consist of meeting with both national and state level political parties and hold a discussion with them The day will be spent in informing and exchanging information to and fro.

The second day, October 4, will be emphasizing on the grassroot level. The team is aimed to assess election preparedness in small localities of Telangana and has asked District Election Officers (DEOs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs)/Commissioners of Police (CPs) of all 33 districts in Telangana to make a detailed presentation of election organisation in the state.

According to an official statement from the CEO’s office the last day, October 5, is scheduled to hold a press conference to conclude the visit. Along with that, the team will be visiting an exhibition showcasing Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP).

One of the crucial responsibilities of the Election Commission is to create awareness among the public, the ECI team will especially be holding a talk with Persons with Disabilities (PwD) voters, and young, first time voters. In order to promote knowledge the team is set to meet popular state icons as well.
