In view of the ‘Loktantra Bachao Rally’ organized by the opposition INDIA bloc on Sunday, the Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory, indicating the regulation of vehicular movement in the city for a duration of six hours on that day, from 9 am- 3pm.
The rally, to be held at Ramleela ground today, will witness the participation of prominent leaders from the INDIA bloc, including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Akhilesh Yadav, and Tejashwi Yadav. The event comes against the backdrop of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s recent arrest.
As per the traffic advisory, certain routes will be regulated and potentially restricted to vehicular movement. These include Ranjeet Singh Flyover from Barakhamba Road to Guru Nanak Chowk, Vivekanand Marg from Minto Road to Kamla Market roundabout, Hamdard Chowk, JLN Marg from Delhi Gate to Guru Nanak Chowk, Ajmeri Gate to Kamla Market roundabout, and Chaman Lal Marg near VIP Gate from Guru Nanak Chowk to Turkman Gate, between 9 am to 3 pm.
Furthermore, traffic diversions might be implemented at Rajghat Chowk, Minto Road, DDU Marg, Mirdard Chowk, Paharganj Chowk, A-Point, and Delhi Gate from 9 am onwards. The advisory emphasizes that traffic regulations and diversions will be subject to review as per the need, with updates issued accordingly.
Commuters are urged to cooperate by avoiding the affected routes if possible and making use of public transport, especially metro services. Those traveling towards ISBT, railway stations, or the airport are advised to plan their journeys meticulously, allowing for ample travel time.
In light of the anticipated disruptions, the general public and motorists are encouraged to maintain patience, adhere to traffic rules and road discipline, and follow the guidance provided by traffic personnel stationed at intersections. Regular updates will be available through official channels, ensuring public awareness and cooperation during the event.
