The Delhi Traffic Police on Tuesday issued an advisory ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the CR Park Kali Mandir and the heavy Durga Puja footfall expected across South Delhi. Restrictions and diversions will remain in force from 3 pm until midnight.

Delhi traffic advisory

According to the advisory, traffic movement will be affected on major stretches including the Outer Ring Road (Panchsheel–Greater Kailash), Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, JB Tito Marg, Inder Mohan Bhardwaj Marg and CR Park Main Road.

Gurudwara Road, Bipin Chandra Pal Marg and several internal roads in CR Park and GK-II will remain closed to traffic. Diversions have been put in place at key points such as the Outer Ring Road under Panchsheel, IIT and Nehru Place flyovers.

Alternate routes to take

Separately, the Greater Kailash-II Welfare Association has issued a special advisory for residents. It warned that roads in and around GK-II and CR Park may face temporary closures or diversions during the Prime Minister’s movement. Some internal GK-II roads may also see restricted entry.

Commuters are advised to opt for alternate routes including MG Road, Aurobindo Marg, Mathura Road, Lala Lajpat Rai Road and Mehrauli-Badarpur (MB) Road. The traffic police urged commuters to use public transport wherever possible and avoid restricted stretches.

Residents have been asked to minimise unnecessary movement and cooperate with law enforcement.
