In Outer Delhi’s Mongolpuri’s F Block, a woman was fatally shot at 8:42 am. Officers received a PCR call alerting them to the incident. Police immediately reached the spot and found Malti on arrival, along with her son and daughter, lying injured outside their residence. While, Malti succumbed to her injuries from the shooting, her wounded children have been referred to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital and are undergoing treatment there.

The Indian Express reported that in this case, the police have arrested the main accused, Vivek, with a country made pistol. Besides him, one Umesh Devi has also been arrested. Both Vivek and Umesh lived on the ground floor of the building.

Initially, according to the police, it appears that the motive for the crime may be connected to property, given that the accused resided on the ground floor while the victim lived on the first floor of the same building.

Woman found near Mongolpuri railway tracks

Coming to the second murder, the police were alerted by a call from Raj Park early on Tuesday regarding an unidentified woman’s body near a water filter plant close to the Mongolpuri railway tracks. The woman had sustained an injury to the back of her head.

An investigation shone light on the fact the 24-year-old victim, a resident of Sultanpuri, was wearing a light blue suit and had a tattoo reading ‘Jasnil’ on her left hand.  She was moved to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, where a post-mortem examination was performed. As per police, the woman was a school dropout and a housewife. An inquiry is underway to ascertain the circumstances of the incident and to locate any potential assailant. Police have registered a case of murder in this regard.

In an instance of dowry-related death in Alipur, a 27-year-old woman named Aarti was found dead with her throat slit on the ground floor of her residence. A police investigation revealed that Aarti had been married for six years. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Alipur was notified about the incident, and the deceased’s relatives were brought before the SDM to provide their statements. They accused the deceased’s husband and in-laws of subjecting her to dowry harassment, suggesting their possible involvement in Aarti’s murder. Accordingly, a case has been registered under IPC Section 304B concerning dowry death, and four individuals – the husband and his family – have been apprehended.

The remaining three homicide cases occurred in various locations, Shastri Park in Northeast Delhi, Seemapuri in Shahdara, and Gulabi Bagh in North Delhi.
