In a significant reshuffle of the Delhi Police, 36 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and five officers from the Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police Service (DANIPS) were reassigned to new positions on Tuesday.

Nabam Gunte, a 2003 batch IPS officer, was moved from Joint Commissioner of Police (Armed Police) to Joint CP of the Special Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) and the Special Police Unit for North-Eastern Region (SPUNER).

Veenu Bansal and Mahender Tiwari, both from the 2004 batch, were appointed as Joint CP (Security) and Joint CP (Armed Police), respectively. Additionally, 2005 batch officer Suman Goyal transitioned from Joint CP (Rashtrapati Bhawan) to Joint CP (Headquarters).

At the district level, Rakesh Paweriya, a 2012 batch IPS officer, will take on the role of DCP (Crime Branch), while 2014 batch officer Amit Goyal, previously DCP (Crime Branch), will now serve as DCP (Rohini district).

The Outer North, Outer, North, North-West, South-East, South-West, and Shahdara districts will see new leadership from IPS officers Nishin Valsan (2012 batch), Sachin Sharma (2014 batch), Raja Banthia (2014 batch), Abhishek Dhania (2012 batch), Ravi Kumar Singh (2012 batch), Surendra Choudhary (2013 batch), and Prashant Gautam (2013 batch), respectively.

In further changes, Guriqbal Singh, a 2012 batch IPS officer, was reassigned from DCP (Rohini) to DCP (Economic Offences Wing), while Bhisham Singh (2012 batch) and Vikram Singh (2014 batch) were both transferred to DCP (Crime Branch).
