The Delhi Traffic Police has announced that several major routes in New Delhi will face blockage from 7:00 AM to about 3:00 PM. The restrictions will be levied on Ring Road (Mahatma Gandhi Marg), SPM Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg, Lothian Marg, and Raj Marg. Diversion points have been set up in Signature Bridge, Rajghat, Raja Ram Kohli Marg, and Yudhister Setu.
Delays expected in THESE areas
Commuters planning their travel to ISBT, Chandni Chowk, Tis Hazari Court, and Old Delhi Railway Station are expected to face delays. They are advised to take sufficient buffer time ahead of their journey. To ease the congestion, the public has been urged to opt for public transport to steer clear of roadside parking that could impact the normal flow of traffic. Under the advisory, citizens have also been informed to stay cautious about any suspicious objects or activities and report the police immediately.

Dignitaries from foreign nations along with many VIPs, VVIPs, and members of the general public are likely to pay their last homage to one of India’s most respected statesmen.
The former Prime Minister has a remarkable political career of decades, in which he has been holding crucial designations like Finance Minister from 1991 to 1996. The Delhi Traffic Police has also asked the citizens to cooperate with the curtailment and follow the diversion routes to ensure seamless conduct of the funeral procession.
