Delhi Voting Day: Where to check voter turnout?

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has developed a mobile application called the Voter Turnout App, designed to provide real-time voter turnout data during elections. Once done with casting votes, people can check the voter turnout percentage via this app. It is available for download on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. It uses live data form the ECI’s Voter Turnout ENCORE server to estimate voter turnout percentages for different states, districts, and constituencies. The app is activated during Assembly, Parliamentary and even by-elections. The app displays the estimated voter turnout for each state, district, and constituency. It offers you filters to sort data by election type, state, district, or constituency. It even allows users to share turnout data on social media platforms.

Delhi Elections: What time does voting in Delhi begin?

Voting will occur in a single phase across all 70 constituencies of the National Capital, with polling stations opening from 7 am till 6:30 pm. After voting ends, various media organisations will begin showing the exit poll results, offering early insights into potential Delhi election results. However, it’s important to note that exit polls carry a degree of uncertainty, and their predictions may not always match the actual outcomes. As per ECI’s strict ruling, no media site is allowed to showcase exit poll results before polling ends.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced a ban on the conduct, publication, and dissemination of exit polls from 7 AM to 6:30 PM on February 5, the day of the Delhi Assembly elections. This prohibition, enforced under Section 126A(1) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, applies across all media platforms, including print, electronic, and digital channels. Additionally, the ECI has imposed restrictions on the display of election-related content, such as opinion polls, on electronic media during the 48-hour “silence period” leading up to the close of voting.
