Targeting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over its infighting, Congress said the “laboratory of AAP experiment is on fire” and accused Arvind Kejriwal of demeaning his party and the political class.
Leaders of Congress, whose 15-year unbroken stint in Delhi was brought to an end by AAP, went hammer and tongs against Kejriwal after a rebellion in that party led to removal of AAP’s founding members Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav from its the National Executive.
Party spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi alleged that absolute power has made Aam Aadmi Party “immoral” and its true character is now visible to the people.
“Power corrupts & abs power(in Delhi) corrupts aap proven tday.Cn ustand power making u indisciplined bt v Hv seen it making aap immoral also.
“Kejriwal’s abusive utterances demean him &Aap bt also cheapen the political class & reflect true uninspiring chaal Charitra & chehra of aap,” he said on Twitter.

Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam said, “Voters of Delhi are feeling cheated due to internal strife in AAP. They have been duped by Kejriwal & Company.”
The reactions came on a day when a bitter campaign against Arvind Kejriwal led by dissident AAP founding members Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav led to their removal from its National Executive for anti-party activities
Amid chaos and high drama, a resolution to remove the two dissident leaders along with their supporters Anand Kumar and Ajit Jha from the powerful panel was passed at the National Council.
After the meeting, Yadav and Bhushan accused Kejriwal of using unfair means including bringing goons at the meeting who allegedly beat up a number of National Council members opposed to the resolution and alleged that lt was a “murder of democracy”.
Congress leader Digvijay Singh alleged Kejriwal would ultimately “drive out all liberal democratic secular leaders” from AAP.
Recalling a popular Hindi saying in Congress circles to denote the functioning style of late Congress President Sitaram Kesri, Singh said “Na Khaata, Na bahi; Jo Kejriwal Kahe Wahi Sahi (There is no account or ledger, whatever Kerjiwal says alone is correct.”
“Didn’t I correctly predict Kejriwal’s functioning?” said Singh who had been frequently attacking Kejriwal over a number of issues in the past.
“He would ultimately drive out all liberal democratic secular leaders from AAP. Mark my words,” Singh said.
