The Special Investigation Team (SIT) officials informed Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah about the possibility of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) issuing a “Blue Corner Notice” against JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, an accused in sexual abuse case, reports The Indian Express.

According to Interpol, Blue Corner notices are “international requests for cooperation or alerts allowing police in member countries to share critical crime-related information.”

Siddaramaiah on Saturday held an “important meeting” with SIT officials, during which he instructed that immediate action be taken to arrest Prajwal Revanna.

“We will proceed for arrest with appropriate measures. There is a possibility of CBI issuing a Blue Corner Notice, which will speed up the investigation,” the officials told the CM, according to a release from his office.

“They (SIT officials) have assured that they will arrest and get the accused back, as soon as they get the information from the airports,” it said.

The scandal involving Prajwal, the grandson of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, and his father, Holenarasipura MLA H D Revanna, has escalated with serious allegations of sexual misconduct reportedly involving several women. The incident came to light when pen drives containing 2,967 files were circulated widely in the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency, prompting widespread outrage.

Subsequently, on April 28, the Holenarasipura town police registered a case based on a complaint filed by a 47-year-old woman. The complaint alleged sexual abuse by Prajwal and his father, Revanna.

Karnataka’s Home Minister G Parameshwara on Saturday said that the SIT had issued a lookout notice against H D Revanna, who is presently facing two FIRs. Revanna, a former minister, has been given a second summons by the SIT, with a deadline until this evening to present himself for interrogation regarding the ongoing investigation.

A second FIR was also registered on Thursday night against Revanna and his confidant Sathish Babanna, alleging abduction of a woman, IE reported.

The second FIR was filed against Prajwal by the CID in Bengaluru on Wednesday. This FIR was initiated based on a complaint filed by a JD(S) party worker, who alleges that she was raped by the MP at gunpoint.

Meanwhile, Prajwal reportedly flew abroad on April 27, just a day after the first phase of Lok Sabha polls in Karnataka on April 26. Despite requests from his lawyer for a seven-day time for his appearance before the SIT, the investigating team rejected this request, citing the absence of such provisions.
