All education institutions, including colleges, have been closed for the day in Thiruvananthapuram district due to heavy rainfall. The District Collector declared a public holiday after the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) an orange alert for eight districts in Kerala – Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, and Thrissur.
Meanwhile, 18 districts in Odisha were put on high alert as low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal, as per PT. Southern Odisha district Malkangiri has since also announced all government and private school be shut on Friday.

After sustaining a “significant brain injury” on Saturday, Chichester City FC Billy Vigar has unfortunately passed away. The former Arsenal player was 21 years old, and his team shared the devastating news on Thursday (US time).
“After sustaining a significant brain injury last Saturday, Billy Vigar was put in an induced coma,” read a statement from his family, issued by Chichester. “On Tuesday he needed an operation to aid any chances of recovery. Although this helped, the injury proved too much for him and he passed away on Thursday (25th) morning.”
“The responses to the original update show how much Billy was thought of and loved within the sport. His family are devastated that this has happened whilst he was playing the sport that he loved.”

James Comey’s lawyer Patrick J Fitzgerald shared a statement to the media indicating the former FBI director’s stance on the formal allegations against him.

James Comey became the first former FBI Director to be indicted on an alleged crime on Thursday (US time). He’s been charged with lying to Congress in a criminal case files days after President Trump apparently pushed his attorney general to prosecute him.

“We are very encouraged by the growing interest of Indian companies to invest in SICA (Central American Integration System) countries, in SICA economies, particularly in agriculture, in renewable energy, in pharmaceuticals, and in IT,” External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said the India-SICA Foreign Minister’s Meeting in New York this week.
“At the same time, our payments, digital payments interface, called the UPI, we’ve actually had great success in ensuring a seamless, real-time, and secure method of transferring funds. Today more than half of the world’s cashless payments take place in India because of this.”
He added, “We would be very happy to work with SICA partners to see how this digital payments system can be applied to our economies if there is such interest.”
Jaishankar continued, “Over the past decade, India’s engagement with SICA has deepened significantly. We have had high-level visits that demonstrate a commitment to closer ties with Central America.”
US President Donald Trump spoke to reporters at the White House on Thursday (US time), informing the world of the new TikTok deal he’d officialised with a fresh executive order signing.
“I had a very good talk with President Xi, a lot of respect for him. Hopefully, he has a lot of respect for me, too. We talked about TikTok, and he gave us the go-ahead,” he said ahead of his meeting with Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif.
