Bihar Election Final Result Highlights: ‘We can’t digest this’, Akhilesh Yadav questions NDA’s Bihar win

Hailing the mandate of Bihar, PM Modi said it is the victory for politics of development and rejection of politics of nepotism.

“This is a victory for the women of Bihar who had to face wrath of RJD’s ‘jungle raj’,” he said.

PM Narendra Modi said that to date, Congress and RJD have not apologised to Chhathi Maiyya. “The people of Bihar will never forget this. Bihar’s pride and honour, this is our priority,” he said,

“The people of Bihar have played a huge role in India’s development. But those who ruled the country for decades always created a false image of Bihar. These people defamed Bihar. They neither respected Bihar’s glorious past, nor its traditions and culture, nor its people…” he added.

Addressing BJP workers in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that whenever he used to speak about Jungle Raj and Katta Sarkar in Bihar elections, the RJD party raised no objections.

“However, this made the Congress uneasy. Today, I want to reiterate that Katta Sarkar will never return to Bihar…The people of Bihar have voted for Viksit Bihar…” he said.

RJD supremo Lalu Prasad’s elder son and Janshakti Janta Dal chief Tej Pratap Yadav was on Friday relegated to the third spot in Bihar’s Mahua seat, with LJP (RV) candidate Sanjay Kumar Singh defeating RJD’s Mukesh Kumar Raushan by 44,997 votes.

Speaking on the NDA’s lead in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said the alliance had expected such results. He said Nitish Kumar has worked for women’s empowerment.

“We were saying above 160, but today the result is above 200. There is faith in Nitish Kumar among the people… This is why the people of Bihar have faith that work is being done in Bihar… The people of Bihar have acted very wisely… We have started many works here in the form of MSME…” he added.

Mahagathbandhan CM candidate and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav leaves from his residence. The alliance has performer worse than the last time and out the 68 results declared so far by the ECI, it has won only 9.

Congress candidate Abidur Rahman is leading from the Araria seat by a margin of 11295 votes against JD(U)’s Shagufta Azim.

Popular singer Maithili Thakur has won her maiden elections that she contested from Alinagar on a BJP ticket.

The day has not been what Tejashwi Yadav had hoped for. The RJD is at its second lowest and throughout the day, Tejashwi also struggled to maintain a constant lead on Raghopur- an RJD bastion.

However, after 31 rounds of counting, Tejashwi has won the seat against BJP’s Satish Kumar.

Union Minister and LJP (RV) National President Chirag Paswan reacts to NDA’s huge victory. He said since the NDA’s government has come to power at the center, “the Prime Minister has continuously prioritized Bihar, implementing projects worth thousands of crores on the ground. Under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar, these projects have been successfully executed. I would say that the duo of PM Narendra Modi and CM Nitish Kumar has achieved remarkable results…” he added.

Talking to the media, he extended his gratitude to the people of Bihar who, he said, with the thought of giving momentum to Bihar on the path to development, took this historic decision of giving a landslide victory to the NDA.

“Bihar and Biharis have the intellect and the capability to take the right decision at the right time… This one answer has put a full stop to many questions. The people who were questioning CM Nitish Kumar’s health, NDA’s tenure of the last two decades, the existence of jungle raj before, how much my Prime Minister prioritises Bihar, and my role in the alliance, this result has given a befitting reply to all these questions… Had this united NDA of five parties existed in 2020, it would have performed equally brilliantly…” Paswan added.

The Bihar election results hint at a re-run of the 2010 assembly elections.

Then, the BJP and JDU had pulled together 206 seats. BJP had won 91 and JDU 115.

Congress had got only 4 while the RJD was at its lowest – 22.

This year too, the JDU has made a comeback after 2020 embarrassment and the BJP has also come out stronger. Meanwhile, the RJD is seeing its second lowest score, and Congress is poised to get 5 seats.

With NDA poised for solid victory, celebrations have begun at Union Minister and LJP-Ram Vilas Paswan National President Chirag Paswan’s house.

He was seen celebrating with his family and party leaders in Patna.

His party, LJP(RV) has won one seat and leading on 19 others. His party had contested on 29 seats.

Amid trends suggesting a landslide victory for the NDA, VIP chief Mukesh Sahani said the Mahagathbandhan fought for the public and fulfilled their duty by making people aware of everything.

“It is up to the public, and they could not understand, so they gave their mandate to the BJP and Nitish ji. I congratulate them, but there are many reasons behind this. They promised Rs 1 lakh 90 thousand to women. People are poor, and that is why they voted for them,” he said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah shares X post on Bihar win, calls it the “victory of every Bihari who believes in ‘Developed Bihar’.”

He said –

No matter in what guise those who practice jungle raj and appeasement politics come, they will not get the opportunity to loot. The public now gives its mandate solely and exclusively on the basis of ‘Politics of performance’.

Uttar Pradesh Dy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya hails Bihar verdict, says party will repeat the same in Uttar Pradesh in 2027.

“मगध जीता, अवध भी जीतेंगे। 2027 में 2017 दोहराएंगे!” he said in a post on X.

As the NDA moves ahead for a resounding victory in the Bihar assembly elections, the question of who will be the Bihar CM.

Janata Dal (United) -JD(U) has registered three more victories in the Bihar elections, taking the win tally to 5. The party is leading on 80 seats.
