Bihar Assembly Election 2025: The authorities are ensuring proper enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) at the Uttar Pradesh-Bihar border ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Uttar Pradesh DGP Rajeev Krishna said, “The first and second phases of the Bihar elections have been declared. Some forces from Uttar Pradesh will also go there. A coordination meeting has been held with the Chief Secretary and DGP of Bihar. Action is being taken to ensure compliance with the code of conduct at the border.”
“Action has been taken to ensure that no act that could influence the elections takes place there. Action would be taken against any kind of cash, seizure, liquor or any such activity that can adversely influence the elections. Village committees also,” DGP Rajeev Krishna added.
On the other hand, CM Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal United (JD(U)) has expelled 11 leaders, including a former minister, for anti-party activities and “defying its ideology” in the run-up to the assembly elections. As per the statement released by JD(U), these expelled members have also been suspended from the party’s primary membership.
“The party took disciplinary action after it found that all 11 leaders were indulging in anti-party activities in the state,” the statement issued on Saturday said.
Those who have been expelled include former minister Shailesh Kumar, former MLAs Shyam Bahadur Singh and Sudharshan Kumar, and former MLCs Sanjay Prasad and Ranvijay Singh.
PM Modi to visit Bihar again on October 30
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bihar on October 30 to attend two programmes in Muzaffarpur and Chhapra, said BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal. This will be the PM’s second visit to the poll-bound state ahead of first phase of voting in November.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi visited Samastipur and Begusarai and addressed two rallies in the poll-bound state. Speaking to ANI, Jaiswal said, “The Prime Minister is coming to Bihar again on October 30, right after Chhath Puja. His first program will be in Motipur, Muzaffarpur at around 10 am. After Muzaffarpur, he will have a program in Chhapra at around 1 pm, and after these two events, his programs will continue in November. For now, the Prime Minister is coming to Bihar on October 30 for events in Muzaffarpur and Chhapra.”
The Prime Minister kick-started his election campaign for the high-stakes Bihar Assembly elections on Friday, stressing that the NDA will return to power in the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off his election campaign from socialist leader Karpoori Thakur, addressing two rallies in Samastipur and Begusarai. He thanked people for attending his rallies in huge numbers at a time when the state is celebrating Chhath. PM Modi took a swipe at the Mahagathbandhan and said that his government transformed “jungle raj” into good governance.
“You all are getting benefits of the ‘GST Bachat Utsav’…. I thank you all for coming here in large numbers. Ab nayi raftar se chalega Bihar jab phir aayegi NDA sarkar,” PM Modi said.

After paying tribute to Bihar’s socialist leader Karpoori Thakur, the Prime Minister didn’t forget to mention him in his speech. He said that NDA will follow in the great leader’s footsteps when elected to power in the upcoming Bihar Assembly Election 2025. Earlier, he took to X and wished the people of the poll-bound state on the occasion of Chhath and also urged them to share puja related songs with him. PM Modi will hold another rally in Begusarai at 2 PM.

During his virtual interaction, Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly criticised the Opposition, calling their alliance a “Lathbandhan”. He accused them of putting “self-interest” above everything else and said they “don’t care about the youth of Bihar”.
“Those who call themselves the ‘Gathbandhan,’ whom the people of Bihar call the ‘Lathbandhan,’ only know how to use the lathi and keep fighting. For the ‘Lathbandhan,’ their own self-interest is paramount. They don’t care about the youth of Bihar,” PM Modi said. He further added that the people and youth of Bihar has suffered for decades from Naxalism and Maoist terror and that the Opposition “kept winning elections with the help of Maoist terror.” He said that Naxalism and Maoist terror had a big part in destroying Bihar.
