Three wagons of a goods train derailed on the outskirts of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on Monday, causing a temporary disruption in operations. The incident occurred while the train was en route from Bhopal to Itarsi, specifically between Misrod and Mandideep railway stations.

Restoration Work Underway

According to Naval Agarwal, the Railway Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Bhopal Division, “Three wagons of a goods train going from Bhopal to Itarsi derailed between Misrod and Mandideep railway stations. Restoration work is underway, and the team is present on-site.” He further assured that train movement has not been significantly impacted due to the derailed wagons being on a three-line section, which allows for continued train operations on the unaffected tracks.

Emergency response teams have been deployed to the scene to facilitate the swift clearing of the derailment and to ensure that the railway services return to normal as soon as possible. No casualties or injuries have been reported as a result of the incident.

The cause of the derailment is currently under investigation, and officials are working to determine the factors that led to the incident. Meanwhile, railway authorities have requested passengers and freight customers to remain patient as restoration efforts proceed.
