Bengaluru Schools Bomb Threat News: Chaos prevailed in the premises of at least 48 schools in different parts of Bengaluru after the administrative staff received bomb threats through anonymous emails on Friday, saying explosives had been planted in their institution.

The emails caused panic among students, parents, and school authorities and resulted in the evacuation of the premises.

The first wave of threats targeted seven schools, including Napel and Vidyashilpa in Basaveshwar Nagar. One of the threatened schools is situated opposite the residence of Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar, India Today reported.

Shortly afterwards, several more educational institutions received similar threats via email.

Bengaluru police commissioner B Dayananda said many anti-sabotage teams were scanning the school premises and they found no suspicious objects.

“Certain schools in Bengaluru city have received emails today morning indicating ‘bomb threat’. Anti sabotage and bomb detection squads have been pressed into service to verify and ascertain. The calls seem to be hoax. Even then all efforts will be made to trace the culprits,” he posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has directed police officials to carry out a thorough investigation into the bomb threats received by schools, Indian Express reported.
