A grocery delivery agent was arrested on Monday for molesting a Bengaluru woman while fulfilling an order at her apartment. The incident took place earlier this month but the victim — a Brazilian model working in the city — had not initially reported the incident. The incident comes mere days after a 21-year-old engineering student in Bengaluru was arrested for raping his senior on campus.
According to a Deccan Herald report, the woman had placed a grocery order through a delivery app on October 17. The delivery agent allegedly misbehaved upon reaching the first-floor apartment — touching her inappropriately after noticing that she was alone. The woman had screamed for help and managed to lock the door before he could intensify the assault.
The woman — who works as a model with a private company — had been left shaken by the incident and did not immediately file a complaint. The matter had eventually come to light after her employer learnt about the assault over the weekend and helped her approach the RT Nagar police.
