Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is desperately seeking to revive his pan-India AAP dream and has set his eyes on Gujarat, where elections are due this year. After suffering defeats in Punjab and Goa elections, AAP is leaving no stone unturned to dethrone BJP in Delhi MCD elections and Gujarat Assembly Elections. CM Kejriwal is scheduled to address a rally on March 26 at the Satyagraha ground in Gandhinagar. #ChaloGandhinagarWithAK was trending on twitter. Twitterati got involved and comments poured in favour and against of Kejriwal and his party. CM Kejriwal is not unfamiliar of social media bashing but this time he was criticized for ‘neglecting’ Delhi and setting his eyes on other states.

After an unimpressive performance in Punjab and Goa, AAP’s national convenor Kejriwal had said the party accepted people’s verdict and will continue with its “struggle”. “We accept people’s mandate. All volunteers worked hard. Our struggle will continue,” Kejriwal had tweeted. The party had put all its might and resources in Punjab and Goa. Kejriwal had himself addressed over 95 rallies in Punjab.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party wanted Assembly elections in Gujarat to be conducted using ballot papers and not EVMs. AAP’s Gujarat Incharge Gopal Rai had said they will approach the Chief Electoral Officer of Gujarat in this regard soon. “We will make a representation before the Chief Electoral Officer of Gujarat and demand that elections to the state Assembly, scheduled later this year, be conducted through ballot papers instead of EVMs (electronic voting machines),” Rai had said.

Apart from the BSP supremo Mayawati, Kejriwal, who is AAP’s national convener and Delhi Chief Minister, has also alleged that EVMs were tampered with in recently concluded Assembly elections in five states. However, the Election Commission has dismissed their contention. Meanwhile, Rai had said AAP has decided to improve its organisational strength in Gujarat. The party had earlier announced that it will field candidates from all 182 seats. “We have so far trained 6000 volunteers and will train 20,000 volunteers in the next two months. We will call all our booth-level workers to Gandhinagar on March 26, when Kejriwal will address them,” he had said.
