AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday accused the BJP of panicking over the AAP government’s promise to provide Rs 2,100 monthly to women under the ‘Mahila Samman Yojana’ and alleged that the party was attempting to block the scheme out of fear of electoral defeat.
Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal dismissed Lt. Governor VK Saxena’s directive for an inquiry into the collection of women’s details under the scheme, calling it “fake” and asserting that the monetary promise was an election pledge.

“We announced Rs 2,100 per month to all eligible women in Delhi under Mahila Samman Yojana and free treatment of the senior citizen under Sanjeevani Yojana, after forming government in Delhi. What are they going to enquire?” Kejriwal said.
He alleged that BJP-aligned individuals and police were disrupting registration camps set up for the schemes. “The BJP was panicked and lost sleep over it. They sent their goons to the camps where registrations were happening and tried to dismantle the camps. They also sent police, who also tried to dismantle them,” Kejriwal charged, PTI reported.
Kejriwal warned that if the BJP came to power in Delhi, they would dismantle programs like free electricity, bus rides for women, and the new schemes. “I want to tell the people of Delhi, if by mistake you vote for the BJP, you will have to leave Delhi. The city will become unlivable for you,” he added.
Earlier in the day, the LG office announced an inquiry into private individuals allegedly collecting personal data from women under the Mahila Samman Yojana. The LG also directed the Delhi chief secretary to notify the Election Commission, citing concerns about canvassing ahead of the polls.
Kejriwal accused the BJP of colluding with the Congress to defeat AAP, alleging Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit filed a complaint against the scheme on BJP’s behalf.
