This comes just days after similar seismic activity in the region. On August 23, Assam’s Karbi Anglong district experienced an earthquake of magnitude 2.7, also at a depth of 10 kilometres. Earlier, on August 21, a 3.5 magnitude earthquake struck Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir at a depth of 5 kilometres.
The series of minor quakes across different states has once again drawn attention to seismic vulnerability in several parts of India.
