Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of infamous gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has been arrested in California, USA, sources revealed on Monday evening. He is a prime suspect in several high-profile criminal cases, including the 2022 murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and a gunfire incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence earlier this year.

Bishnoi is also wanted for his alleged involvement in the recent murder of Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader associated with the Ajit Pawar faction.

According to officials, Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch had initiated extradition proceedings earlier this month, following a special Maharashtra court’s issuance of a non-bailable warrant against him. A Red Corner Notice was also issued by Interpol to facilitate his capture.

Bishnoi, previously believed to be hiding in Canada, was added to the National Investigation Agency’s most-wanted list last month. A Rs 10 lakh reward had been announced for information leading to his arrest.

Further legal steps are underway to bring Bishnoi back to India to face trial in these cases.
