Haryana Sports Minister Anil Vij today criticised actor Salman Khan’s appointment as the Indian Olympic contingent’s goodwill ambassador and backed star wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt for the post.

“Yogeshwar Dutt forget Salman Khan. You are a real hero, Salman is a filmy hero. Real heroes, not filmy hero will bring medals for the country,” Vij tweeted.

Recently Yogeshwar Dutt had said that appointing Salman Khan as goodwill ambassador of Indian contingent for Rio Olympics 2016 was not a good decision.

“Indian Olympic Association should have appointed some renowned Indian sportsman to represent India in Rio Olympics. Olympic medallist Yogeshwar Dutt has brought many laurels for the country in wrestling,” he said.

He said that film celebrities should get preference in cultural celebrations but not in the sports events.
