The iconic Amrit Udyan at Rashtrapati Bhavan, formerly known as the Mughal Gardens, will once again open its gates to the public for the much-awaited spring season from February 2 to March 30, 2025. The President’s Secretariat announced on Monday that visitors can explore the gardens six days a week, with Mondays set aside for maintenance.
A favorite destination for nature lovers and tourists alike, the garden offers a stunning array of vibrant blooms and meticulously maintained landscapes, providing a peaceful retreat in the heart of the capital.
According to the President’s office, visitors can explore the stunning gardens six days a week, between 10 am to 6 pm, with the Udyan remaining closed on Mondays for maintenance.
Amrit Udyan will remain closed on the following dates during the spring season:
- February 5: Due to polling for the Delhi Legislative Assembly
- February 20-21: For the Visitors’ Conference at Rashtrapati Bhavan
- March 14: On account of Hol
Entry to Amrit Udyan
Entry to the garden will be through Gate No. 35 of the President’s Estate, located near the junction of North Avenue and Rashtrapati Bhavan. To ease access, a shuttle bus service will operate every 30 minutes from the Central Secretariat Metro Station to Gate No. 35, running between 9:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. This service ensures a smooth and convenient visit for those wishing to explore the beauty of Amrit Udyan.
Entry to the Amrit Udyan is free, with bookings available on the official website of Rashtrapati Bhavan with talk-in visitors also welcome.
Special days for special visitors
In addition to the general public access, special days have been designated for specific groups to enjoy the beauty of Amrit Udyan. March 26 will be dedicated to differently-abled persons, while March 27 is reserved for personnel from the defense, paramilitary, and police forces.
March 28 will honor women and members of tribal women’s self-help groups, and March 29 will be dedicated to senior citizens, ensuring that these groups have the opportunity to experience the garden in a more focused and accessible manner.
As part of the Amrit Udyan festivities, Rashtrapati Bhavan will host the “Vividhta Ka Amrit Mahotsav” from March 6 to 9, 2025. This cultural event will showcase the rich heritage and traditions of Southern India, offering an immersive experience of its diverse cultural tapestry.
The annual opening of Amrit Udyan, with its meticulously landscaped gardens and vibrant blooms, continues to attract large crowds, providing a serene escape in the heart of the capital.
