Allu Arjun house attack: In a startling turn of events, members of Osmania University’s Joint Action Committee (JAC) broke into Telugu actor Allu Arjun’s residence on Sunday in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, causing significant damage to his property. The police quickly intervened, arresting eight JAC members, who were then taken to the Jubilee Hills Police Station. The group, including several JAC leaders, demanded one crore rupees in compensation for the family of a 35-year-old woman who died during a stampede at a cinema hall in Hyderabad on December 4. Allu Arjun had attended the premiere of his film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ at the time.

A video of the incident showed men damaging flower pots and other property. Allu Arjun was not at home during the attack, which occurred shortly after he had publicly urged his fans to avoid abusive behaviour, following new allegations related to the stampede incident. According to media reports, eight people were arrested but a Hyderabad court granted bail on Monday to six individuals charged with vandalizing Arjun’s residence in the city on Sunday.

How did ruckus unfold at Allu Arjun’s Hyderabad residence?

Following the incident, Telangana’s Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy condemned the attack and instructed the state Director General of Police and the city police commissioner to take strict action to maintain law and order. According to a police statement, one of the protesters climbed the compound wall of Allu Arjun’s house and began throwing tomatoes. When security staff intervened and asked them to come down, the protesters assaulted the staff and damaged flower pots. The protesters also chanted slogans and spoke to the media at the scene.

Jubilee Hills Police arrived and detained a few individuals involved in the vandalism. A case was filed against them and others involved, with police warning that any unlawful behavior would not be tolerated. The protesters demanded one crore rupees in compensation for the family of the woman who died in the stampede, holding a placard claiming that while filmmakers earn crores, those watching films are dying. Police confirmed that Allu Arjun was not at home during the incident, and security at his residence has been increased.

In a statement on X, the Chief Minister emphasized that any laxity in maintaining law and order would not be accepted. Allu Arjun’s father, veteran producer Allu Aravind, responded to the incident by urging restraint, saying that law enforcement was handling the situation and any further troublemakers would be dealt with by the police. He stressed that no one should support such actions.

Additionally, the DCP of Central Zone issued a report to the DGP concerning a suspended police officer, Vishnu Murthy, for violating disciplinary norms by holding a press conference without prior approval and making derogatory remarks against Allu Arjun. The DGP’s office is investigating the matter.
