Vijay accuses Stalin of taking revenge
Vijay took aim at Chief Minister Stalin, accusing him of taking “revenge” against his party and its supporters following the stampede.
He refered to the FIRs filed against several TVK leaders and members, including Mathiyazhagan, TVK’s Karur West District Secretary, and Paun Raj, who were arrested in connection with the incident.
Vijay strongly denied any wrongdoing and said, “We did not do anything wrong.” He further stated, “CM sir, if you have an intention to take revenge, do anything to me. Do not touch them. I will either be home or in my office. Do anything you want to me.”
Vijay also hinted at a political conspiracy, adding that why the stampede occurred in Karur when his campaign had taken place in five other districts without any such incidents.
He said, “People know the truth and they are watching everything,” adding, “I am confident that the truth will come out soon.”
‘I have never faced such a pain’
In his video, Vijay said, “I have never faced such a painful situation in my life. My heart aches with only pain.” The actor-politician claimed that his primary concern had always been the safety of the people who attended his rallies.
He explained that he had requested permission from the police to hold the event at a safe location, prioritising the well-being of his supporters over political ambitions.
“I kept politics aside and chose a place that was safe for the people,” Vijay said, condemning the tragic incident as something that “shouldn’t have happened.”
Vijay added, “How can I leave those people and come back when so many were affected? I wanted to ensure no untoward incident happens again.”
He also extended his condolences to the families affected by the stampede, saying, “I know that many families are suffering. I hope everyone gets well soon. I will meet all of you as soon as possible.”
Vijay also expressed gratitude to the people who continued to support him, stating, “Our political journey will continue with more strength and more fearlessness.”
