4 years of Modi government LIVE: The Narendra Modi Government has completed four years today. During these four years, the NDA Government has introduced a number of reforms that have been appreciated by the people of the country including Swachch Bharat project, Demonetisation, implementation of Goods and Services tax, Ujjwala Yojna, among others. Even rating agency Moody’s upgraded India’s sovereign rating after the gap of 14 years long years. Recently, the government has also claimed that is has connected all villages in the country with electricity.  The government has decided to celebrate the day in a number of ways. The party on Friday also launched a new slogan “‘Saaf Niyat, Sahi Vikas” (clean intentions, right development), to mark the fourth anniversary of BJP led NDA government.

7:16 pm: The CPI today claimed that the BJP government has nothing to show for its four years at the centre except “failures and rhetoric” and should be ousted from power.

6:40 pm: PM Modi ends address at Cuttack.

6:35 pm: Due to the Mahanadi water dispute, farmers of Odisha are suffering. We are committed to resolve their problems and address the challenges they have to face, PM Modi at Cuttack.

6:32 pm: There is lack of proper health facilities in several places. Situation is worse here in Odisha. I wonder what were the previous govts doing? Even if state govts aren’t carrying out their responsibilities properly, centre is doing everything it can in this direction, said PM.

6:20 pm: For me, development and good governance are good politics. “I believe in working for the people and not out of greed”, says PM.

06: 15 pm: Today, the country is progressing rapidly. We have built crores of homes, modernising hospitals, introduced digital India. all these are creating job opportunities for the youngsters. We are keeping special attention on youngsters. We are building longest tunnel between in Leh.

06: 13 pm: We introduced skill India, start-up India schemes to uplift the youngsters.

06:11 pm: We have changed the street lights to LED lights which resulted in saving crores of rupees. We used that money now for other social purposes.

06: 10 pm: We have introduced better transport communication, better education system, better infrastructure facilities.

06: 09 pm: My government has worked honestly. Development and good governance is my mantra of the government. My government has taken the initiatives which no government has ever thought of. we have a target to provide each house to a family till 2022.

06: 08 pm: Why didn’t Congress realise that the poor are not being entertained at banks? Why didn’t the Congress ever see that the lives of poor people also hold value and they also need life insurance: PM Modi

06: 07 pm: Till 2014 39% of the population had access to sanitation facilities, today the figure is over 80%. From independence till 2014 there were around 6 crore toilets in the country but in last four years 7.5 crore toilets have been made: PM Modi

06: 06 pm: During the last four years, we cancelled more than four lakhs companies registration.

06: 04 pm: In last four years, we done our work honestly. We did for the well being of the poor including others. We changed the system to bring transparency in it. Over 1400 laws, we ended. We removed the interview system in Group c and d exams.

05: 59 pm: The Prime Minister highlighted the various schemes of his government. Each citizen will get the benefit of health scheme.

05: 58 pm: The day is not so far when the poor were only the material of vote bank. The congress party never thought of uplifting them. Today, all the families have atleast one bank accounts in the bank.

05: 53 pm: Within next year there will be fully connectivity between the village and cities. There will be well road connectivity. From 1947 to 2014, there was 6 crore toilets. but last fours, there was newly built around more than 7 crores toilets.

05:52 pm: NDA government is working towards benefit of common people. I can assert that my work is working with the people’s mandate not from any Janpath. Over 18,000 homes have electricity. : PM Modi

05: 46 pm: The Congress party only gave the slogan of Garibi hatao instead of serving poor. Half the people have no gas and electriocity, road connection. There was no washroom, Half the people has no bank accounts are there. Who are these people? These are dalits, adivasi etc.  : PM Modi

05: 45 pm: During UPA regime, the congress party used to run the government through remote control.

05: 44 pm: One family has ruled around 48 years in the country. The party believes -Family first instead of country first.

05: 43 pm: Today, around four former CMs were in jail. This has forced all the oppositions to come under one umbrella. : PM Modi

05: 42 pm: We committed to eradicating black money. This government forced the enemies to become a friend. The public knows well. The central agencies have raided and recovered over Rs 53,000 crores black money. : PM Modi

05: 35 pm: Many who are in the NDA govt have lived in poverty and that is why betterment of the poor is their biggest priority. It is a government whose President, Vice President & Pradhan Sevak, all have lived in poverty. : PM Modi

05:34 pm: PM Modi said that this the government where people have come from poverty and that is what they committed towards the empowerment of poor. He said that this is the first government in which the President, vice president and Pradhan Sevak all come from a humble background.

05: 31 pm: The Prime Minister said that his confidence increases when he looks at the people of this country. He said that the people of India have given him the confidence that policies can be changed, situations can be changed and our India can be changed as well.

04: 52 pm: The Prime Minister also launched a survey on the NaMo App to gauge people’s mood about his administration.

04: 50 pm: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Odisha’s Cuttack. He is likely to address the rally shortly.

04: 27 pm: CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury also criticised Narendra Modi over his government’s completion of four years. In ‘People’s Democracy’, Yechury said that these four years have seen an unprecedented assault on India as a country and the livelihood of our people.

04: 16 pm: Samajwadi Party president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has hit out at the Narendra Modi government. The party alleged that the poor, dalits and women suffered during the last four years.
