A night that started off enchanting for many Enrique Iglesias fans in Mumbai concluded on a negative note after several concertgoers reported that their phones were stolen by the end of the concert. According to the PTI report citing the police, at least 73 mobile phones worth approximately ₹23.85 lakh were stolen during the Spanish pop star’s packed show at MMRDA Grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex.

According to Mumbai Police, seven FIRs have been registered so far in connection with the thefts. The complaints were filed by several attendees, including a makeup artist, a hotelier, students, a journalist, and a few businessmen, all of whom realised their phones were missing during or right after the concert.
Investigations are currently underway, and CCTV footage from the venue is being checked to track the culprits. The minimum entry price was ₹7,000, and many paid much more to get closer to the stage. For most fans, this was a rare chance to watch Iglesias live in Mumbai after more than a decade.
Enrique’s grand return after 13 years
The 50-year-old Latin pop icon returned to India after 13 years. His first Mumbai performance had over 25,000 people in attendance. The singer took fans on a nostalgic ride with his biggest hits like Hero, Bailamos, Escape, and Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You) during a 90-minute set.
Before his concert, Enrique had spoken to Zoom, saying he was excited to perform in Mumbai because of its energy. “I’ve heard so much about the incredible energy in Mumbai — I can’t wait to feel that connection again,” he said.
When asked what draws him to India, he added, “The people — their warmth and passion for music have always stayed with me.”
The night kicked off with an opening set by EDM duo Progressive Brothers, followed by a performance by Indo-Canadian singer Jonita Gandhi. Among the crowd were several familiar faces, Malaika Arora, Vidya Balan, Rakul Preet Singh, Jackky Bhagnani, Rubina Dilaik, Anu Malik, and Abhinav Shukla, all spotted cheering and singing along.
