The Tata Sierra has returned to the Indian market, marking the revival of a legendary nameplate with an all-new identity. Tata Motors describes the launch as the reawakening of an icon. First showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo and teased multiple times since, the production-ready Sierra is now officially unveiled. Blending nostalgic cues from the original 1990s model with a fresh, contemporary aesthetic, the SUV embraces retro character while delivering a thoroughly modern appeal.

Tata Sierra: Engine & Mechanical Details
The latest-generation Sierra comes equipped with Tata’s newly developed 1.5-litre GDi turbo-petrol motor, delivering 158 bhp and 255 Nm of peak torque, paired exclusively with a six-speed automatic gearbox. Buyers can alternatively opt for a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, tuned to produce 105 bhp and 145 Nm, offered with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The diesel lineup includes a 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit generating 116 bhp and 260 Nm, matched with a six-speed manual or seven-speed DCT. Tata has also confirmed that the Sierra will feature an all-wheel-drive setup—making it the first among the brand’s new-age models to offer this capability.
Tata Sierra: Cabin & Technology Highlights
The interior of the Sierra focuses on premium appeal and cutting-edge tech, headlined by a trio of digital screens—one dedicated to the instrument cluster and two for infotainment purposes, capable of sharing data across displays. Inspired by the Curvv, the cabin features a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata emblem and capacitive touch controls.
Other standout equipment includes a 12-speaker JBL audio system with Dolby Atmos support, the segment-first SonicShaft soundbar, dual-zone automatic climate control, the largest panoramic sunroof in India, wireless charging, powered and ventilated front seats, rear window blinds, and extensive soft-touch materials paired with a floating armrest for an upscale ambience.
Tata Sierra: Safety & Driver Assistance
On the safety front, the Sierra is equipped with an advanced Level-2 ADAS setup that offers a 360-degree surround camera, dual blind-spot monitoring, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and ESP with 21 functions among several driver-assistance tools. Standard protection features include six airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners with load limiters, ISOFIX mounts for child seats, and 3-point seatbelts for every occupant, ensuring strong all-round safety credentials.
