Startup funding: Airattix, a Pune-based marketplace for renting out vacant storage and parking spaces for goods storage and car parking, has secured Rs 2.30 crore in pre-Series A funding from a group of angel investors in India and the US. The company said the funds will help in business expansion and hiring professionals for their India offices. It is also looking to extend operations in Dubai.

Established in 2020, Airattix allows people to list and rent out their vacant storage spaces and parking slots for goods storage and car parking respectively to earn rental income. Individuals owning extra unused space including extra room, basement, attic, garage, warehouse or any other secure space can list it on the portal for goods storage or parking purposes for verified customers who need it.

“This funding underscores our growth in the storage and parking space industry. We appreciate the trust our investors have placed in us, enabling us to expand both in India and internationally. With this funding, our goal is to broaden our footprint and assemble dedicated teams to serve each market,” said Aditya Kale, Founder & CEO, Airattix in a statement.

Operating as an aggregator for vacant spaces, the startup does not take responsibility for the quality of services offered by the hosts and the behaviour of the customers, according to the information available on its website.

Airattix operates in around 15 cities across India and has over 25,000 registered users. The startup had recently partnered with ride-hailing startup inDrive to offer latter storage solutions for car accessories.

The minimum booking duration for goods storage is 30 days while car park rental can be on a per-day basis. Hosts receive the rent payments on a monthly basis in case of agreements exceeding more than a month’s duration. In case the booking duration is less than a month, the hosts receive the entire payment of the booking duration.
