In a significant move towards infrastructure development in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister M K Stalin inaugurated several key projects on Friday. These included the expansion of two-lane highways into four-lane roads and the opening of a bridge spanning the Kosasthalaiyar river, with a combined cost of Rs 518.26 crore.

Road Development in Tamil Nadu

Among the projects unveiled were the four-lane Tirunelveli-Sengottai-Kollam Road, the widened Tambaram-Mudichur-Sriperumbudur Road, the Uthiramerur-Bukkathurai Road, and the four-lane Cuddalore-Chittoor Road, along with the Kosasthalaiyar river bridge in Tiruvallur district. These initiatives were executed under the Chief Minister’s Road Development Programme by the Highways Department.

Additionally, CM Stalin inaugurated new and upgraded fish landing centers, fish hatcheries, and hostel buildings for the Tamil Nadu Dr J Jayalalithaa Fisheries University in Nagapattinam, costing Rs 143.69 crore.

Furthermore, the chief minister recognized the efforts of Ramanathapuram, Kancheepuram, and Erode districts for their effective implementation of social welfare programs, leading to improvements in the sex ratio. Medals and certificates of appreciation were presented to the respective district collectors—P Vishnu Chandran, Kalaiselvi Mohan, and Raja Gopal Sunkara.
