Coinciding with Karnataka Rajyotsava on November 1, the ‘Nagaraa’ metered autorickshaw app launched its new NAMMA Code, also known as the Nagaraa Auto Multi Modal Access Code. This innovative feature enables users to access multiple trips using a single one-time password (OTP) or code, which will remain active for the entire day. Previously, users had to generate different codes for each trip, complicating the booking process.

Developed by Agnibu Technologies in collaboration with Brand Pride Mobility Pvt Ltd, the Nagaraa app allows drivers to connect with customers both digitally and on the street, adhering to regulatory fare structures.

Niranjanardhya N, CEO of Brand Pride Mobility, highlighted the convenience for customers, stating they no longer need to repeatedly enter their pickup details, IE reported. Instead, they can use the same code for multiple destinations. This system also helps drivers optimize their schedules by enabling quicker identification of customers, thereby reducing idle time and increasing ride opportunities.

How does NAMMA Code work?

To generate the NAMMA Code, customers can interact with the Nagaraa auto’s WhatsApp chatbot by sending ‘Hi’ to 9620020042. This will provide them with a four-digit code valid until midnight of that day. After receiving the code, users can send their pickup location, and the app will deliver the driver and autorickshaw details. The same code can then be used for different trips throughout the day.

The single-code system was initially tested near the Vijaynagar Metro station.
