The National Highways Authority of India has announced that the FASTags with incomplete KYC will be deactivated by banks on January 31, 2024. It is advisable for anyone with a car equipped with a FASTag to verify the status of their KYC.

NHAI points out the significance of completing KYC for FASTags in compliance with RBI guidelines.

The National Highways Authority of India has announced an initiative that was aimed at optimising and improving toll collection efficiency, namely “One Vehicle, One FASTag”. 

The objective of this NHAI program is to deter the practice of using a single FASTag for multiple vehicles or employing multiple FASTags for a single vehicle.

How to update FASTag KYC

For people who are yet to update the FASTag KYC, today is the last date to do so. January 31, 2024, is the deadline to have FASTag KYC updated. To complete the process, follow the below mentioned steps:

– Visit the official FASTag website – fastag.ihmcl.com

– Login using the registered mobile number and password. OTP-based validation can also be used in case of a forgotten password.

– After this, open the dashboard menu and select the ‘My Profile’ option.

– This page will have the information on KYC status along with other details

– In case of an incomplete KYC process, head to the KYC sub-section and choose customer type.

– Fill in the required details along with ID proof, address proof with documents, and passport-size photo.

– Tick the declaration and proceed with the KYC verification process by submitting the required information.

Documents required

To complete the KYC process, certain documents are required. Here’s a list of required documents:

– Registration Certificate of the Vehicle

– Passport-sized photograph of the vehicle owner
