Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced on Monday that Sultanganj railway station in the Bhagalpur district will be renamed after the revered Hindu shrine, Ajgaibinath Dham. This decision underscores the government’s commitment to honoring the region’s cultural and religious heritage.

Proposal Under Review

During an event in Bhagalpur, Choudhary revealed, “The Sultanganj railway station will soon carry the name of Ajgaibinath Dham. A proposal for this change has already been passed by the municipal council and will be forwarded to the appropriate authorities for approval.”

Ajgaibinath Temple, an ancient site dedicated to Lord Shiva, is located in Sultanganj and is notable for its intricate carvings and stone inscriptions. Situated along the banks of the holy Ganga River, the temple holds significant spiritual importance for devotees.

The renaming of the railway station aims to enhance the recognition of the shrine and promote tourism in the area, further connecting it with its cultural roots. Local residents and devotees alike have welcomed the announcement, seeing it as a celebration of their heritage and an opportunity to attract more visitors to the temple.
