In a significant development for tourism and connectivity between Telangana and Goa, the Railway Board has approved the introduction of a new bi-weekly express train service, Train Numbers 17039/17040, connecting Secunderabad and Vasco-Da-Gama. The service is set to enhance travel options and attract more tourists to the picturesque state of Goa.

Key Details of the New Service

Beginning on October 9, 2024, Train No. 17039 Secunderabad-Vasco-Da-Gama Bi-Weekly Express will depart from Secunderabad every Wednesday and Friday at 10:05 AM, arriving at Vasco-Da-Gama the following day at 5:45 AM. En route, the train will make stops at key stations, including Kacheguda, Shadnagar, and Hubballi, among others, ensuring convenient access for passengers traveling from various parts of the state.

The key stops and timings are as follows:

  • Kacheguda: 10:18 AM
  • Shadnagar: 11:04 AM
  • Mahbubnagar: 11:55 AM
  • Kurnool City: 1:38 PM
  • Guntakal: 3:25 PM
  • Brahmanapalli: 3:43 PM
  • Dharwad: 5:50 PM
  • Hubballi: 10:50 PM
  • Madgaon: 3:50 AM
  • Vasco-Da-Gama: 5:45 AM

In addition, Train No. 17040 Vasco-Da-Gama-Secunderabad Bi-Weekly Express will commence operations on October 10, 2024. This train will leave Vasco-Da-Gama every Thursday and Saturday at 9:00 AM, reaching Secunderabad by 6:20 AM the next day. Similar to its counterpart, this service will also cover several important stations along its route, including Madgaon, Dharwad, and Kurnool City.
