Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the facelift of Ernakulam Town Railway Station in Kerala is going on at a fast pace. Once all work is done, the station will “boost intermodal transport facility”, said the Ministry of Railways, on Monday.
The ministry shared a progress report and informed that work is completed in:
a) FOB PF shed removed
b) OFC repeater room shifted
“Upon completion, it will boost intermodal transport facility connecting Kochi metro & KSRTC bus services providing seamless journeys,” said the ministry.
Station code ERN, Ernakulam Town Railway Station is one of the main junctions in the city of Ernakulam. It has two platforms and four railway tracks. The station comes under Southern Railway zone of Indian Railways.

Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Indian Railways has embarked on the task of redevelopment of 1309 railway stations across India. Out of these, 34 railway stations (including Ernakulam Town Railway Station) will be transformed in India’s Kerala state.
