The much-awaited Amritsar-Delhi Vande Bharat train was virtually flagged off by the Prime Minister in December last year. Punjab’s first Vande Bharat commenced its regular service (six days a week) from January 6 this year, making the commutation between major states seamless.
Now in an X post, the citizen engagement platform of the Government of India ‘My Gov India’ has shared a passenger’s firsthand account of the newly started semi-high-speed train.
The passenger shared the details about the food facility, route, and cleanliness of the train, He said,” This is our new India, the train is traveling at a speed of 127 kmph. The washroom is also neat and clean.”
All about Amritsar-Delhi Vande Bharat
With train number 22488, the Delhi-Amritsar Vande Bharat Express operates from Amritsar to Old Delhi, which departs from Amritsar at 9:30 am and arrives in Delhi at 1:50 pm.
The train covers a distance of 448 km in a remarkably short duration of four hours and 20 minutes. Similarly, the Vande Bharat Express no. 22487 leaves Delhi at 3:15 pm and reaches Amritsar at 9:45 pm.
Coming to the ticket cost, passengers traveling from Jalandhar Cantt- Delhi on the Vande Bharat Express are priced at Rs 1095, slightly exceeding the fare for the Shatabdi Express.
The eight-coach Delhi-Amritsar Vande Bharat Express train comprises 530 seats, including 44 executives. The train haltx for only two minutes in Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Ambala.
