Indian Railways will launch the much-awaited new livery of Vande Bharat Express train on Sunday. The train will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually from New Delhi. With its introduction, the country will get the upgraded version with latest and modern features including its look and design of India’s first indigenous-built semi-high speed train.

Routes of upgraded version of Vande Bharat Express:

The new Vande Bharat Express will operate between Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod. This will be the second semi-high speed train for the state and on route.

Colour of new Vande Bharat Express:-

In the wake of the highly successful launch of the Vande Bharat Express featuring its iconic blue and white colour, the national transporter has decided to give this train a fresh makeover. Thus, the railway has changed the colour of this new age train with a mix of orange and grey.

Why would Kerala’s two Vande Bharat Express operate on the same route?

Both the Vande Bharat Express – (a) the already introduced train and (b) the newly to be introduced will operate on the same route i.e. Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram. This is because of the highest passenger occupancy amongst all the Vande Bharat Express. Speaking to Financialexpress.com, B Guganesan, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Southern Railways (SR) said, “It is the highest patronised route amongst all Vande Bharat.”

Features of Orange and Grey coloured Vande Bharat Express:-

The new Orange and Grey coloured Vande Bharat Express will have better cushion for seats, extended foot rest in the Executive Chair Cars, Wash Basin with increased depth, increase in seat declining angle and better lighting in toilets. The train will also have a change of reading lamp touching from resistive touch to capacitive touch for easy use, better roller blind fabric and anti-climbing device for improved safety.
