In a significant development aimed at enhancing railway infrastructure and improving passenger connectivity, Northern Railway has successfully completed the remodelling work at Janghai Yard. This initiative is set to transform train operations in the region, making travel more efficient and convenient for commuters.
Key Upgrades Implemented
The remodelling project includes the doubling of a 16 km track between Janghai and Ugresan, which is expected to alleviate congestion and increase train frequency. Additionally, 17 km of new track has been laid, further expanding the railway network.
As part of the improvements, a trial run was conducted at a speed of 80 km/h, which was followed by a Comprehensive Railway Safety (CRS) inspection. The project also includes the construction of four new platforms, a six-meter wide foot overbridge (FOB), and a new station building complete with a circulating area and parking space.
Benefits for Passengers
These upgrades are not only focused on infrastructure but also on enhancing the overall travel experience. Passengers can expect reduced travel times and improved train operations, which will lead to greater accessibility and convenience. The new facilities will ensure that public transport remains a viable and efficient option for all.
