Amid the ongoing summer season, the northern railway has announced several special trains for its Delhi and Moradabad division to provide convenience to passengers. The step will also be crucial in order to clear the extra rush of the passengers. The Delhi division of the northern railways has ensured 542 trips of special trains from April 7 to July 1 to ensure comfortable travel during the summer vacation season. Additionally, Moradabad division has announced around 51 summer special trains to run through the division of eastern UP, Bihar and central India.
Special trains have been planned to connect major destinations across the country on railway sectors such as Delhi/ New Delhi/ Anand Vihar Terminal to Patna, Danapur, Muzaffarpur, Jogbani, Saharsa, Jaynagar, Darbhanga, Gorakhpur, Raxual, Varanasi, Gaya, Shri Vaishno Devi Katra. While passengers rush at stations including Dehradun, Haridwar, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Roza and Hapur are being monitored on hourly basis.
Crowd management:
Railways has planned to take necessary actions to manage the crowd. It includes crowd controlling measures by forming a queue at the terminus stations with the supervision of RPF staff for orderly entry of passengers in unreserved coaches is being ensured. Further, “May I Help You” booths are kept operational at important stations where RPF Personnel and TTEs are deputed for proper assistance and guidance of the passengers. In fact, at stations like New Delhi, Delhi and Anand Vihar, officers have been deputed as special duty officers (SDOs).
Additionally, Pandals have been formed at New Delhi Ajmeri Gate and Anand Vihar Terminal for keeping the crowd in the circulating area during pre-departure waiting period, to minimise rush at platforms. There will also be an opening of 15 additional booking/enquiry counters at ANVT and opening of 20 additional booking/ enquiry counters at New Delhi as per need. Special security arrangements at stations are also made.
Moreover, the un-announced special trains shall be run on advice of station directors or SS, based on ground situation.
Interestingly, passengers can avail the facility of digital payment for Rail Neer and Janta Khana at all catering and non-catering units.
