Indian Railways has revised the schedule of the New Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express on Monday (January 6), due to delays caused by a cold wave and dense fog in North India. The dense fog in the national capital and surrounding regions over the past few days has disrupted both flight and train operations.
New Delhi to Varanasi Vande Bharat Express: Distance, timings and duration
The New Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express, operated and maintained by the Northern Railway (NR) zone, covers a distance of 771 km in approximately 8 hours. Train number 22435 (Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express), scheduled to reach Delhi at 23:00 on January 5, has been delayed by more than 8 hours.
According to the National Train Enquiry System (NTES), it is now expected to reach its destination by 10:05 hrs. As a result, train number 22436 (New Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express) will depart from New Delhi at 12:00 hrs instead of 06:00 hrs. The train is expected to arrive in Varanasi at 19:15 hrs instead of the usual 14:00 hrs.
New Delhi to Varanasi Vande Bharat Express: Stoppages, frequency and platform details
The New Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express halts at two major stations during its journey: Kanpur Central and Prayagraj Junction. It operates six days a week, with Thursday being the non-operational day.
As per NTES, the train departs from Platform 16 at New Delhi, Platform 5 at Kanpur Central, Platform 5 at Prayagraj Junction, and arrives at Platform 1 in Varanasi.
New Delhi to Varanasi Vande Bharat Express: Revised timing for January 6, 2025
On January 6, train number 22436 will leave New Delhi at 12:00 hrs (instead of 06:00 hrs), reach Kanpur Central at 15:49 hrs (instead of 10:08 hrs), Prayagraj Junction at 17:31 hrs (instead of 12:08 hrs), and Varanasi at 19:15 hrs (instead of 14:00 hrs).
