In a crucial initiative to facilitate the construction of 6th line, Western Railway has announced a significant block on the 5th line between Goregaon and Kandivali stations. This block is set to occur on Sunday/Monday, September 29/30, 2024, from 21:30 to 07:30, lasting for a total of 10 hours.

Impact on Harbour Lines and Slow/Fast Lines

Additionally, there will be another major block affecting the Up and Down Harbour lines from 00:30 to 10:30, which will also extend for 10 hours. Moreover, the Up and Down Slow and Fast lines will experience a 4-hour block from 00:30 to 04:30.

During the block period from 00:30 to 04:30, trains will only operate between Churchgate and Andheri and between Virar and Borivali. All trains from Churchgate to Goregaon, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Goregaon, and Panvel to Goregaon will run up to Andheri and will reverse from there.

This decision follows a similar block that took place the previous day, aimed at facilitating the ongoing construction of the new 6th line between Goregaon and Kandivali stations. The railway authorities believe that these enhancements will significantly improve train operations and reduce congestion on existing lines.
