Local train services on the Western Line faced significant disruptions during peak hours on Monday morning, September 9. According to the Mumbai Division of Western Railway, trains running on the slow line towards Churchgate are experiencing delays of approximately 15 minutes. The delay is attributed to ongoing construction work between Goregaon and Malad railway stations.
The Mumbai Division of Western Railway issued a notice on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Due to the ongoing work between Goregaon and Malad Station, all slow local trains on the Western Suburban line (Mumbai) are running 15 minutes late. We regret the inconvenience caused to passengers.”
Previous Major Block
This disruption follows a major block that was implemented earlier. On Friday, September 7, Western Railway had announced a 10-hour block of services between Goregaon and Kandivali stations to facilitate the construction of the 6th line. This block, which affected the Up and Down Slow lines and the Down Fast line, started from the night of September 7 and continued until 10 am on Sunday, September 8.
