An Indian Railways official on Monday (June 10) informed that several trains on the Konkan Railway route have experienced delays due to ongoing double-tracking work in South Goa.

Baban Ghatge, Deputy General Manager of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) informed that the South Western Railway has been undertaking double-tracking initiatives between Majorda and Cansualim stations in South Goa.

As a consequence of this ongoing work, trains on the Konkan Railway route have been running behind schedule by approximately three to four hours since Sunday.

Train services expected to get on track by Monday evening

Ghatge noted that the majority of trains on the Konkan Railway route have been impacted by these delays, emphasising the widespread nature of the issue. “Almost all trains on the Konkan Railway route are delayed since Sunday,” he said.

However, he provided assurance that train services are anticipated to return to their regular schedules by Monday evening, once the necessary adjustments have been made.
