Indian Railways is set to operate a Bharat Gaurav Special Tourist train for the upcoming “South Canara Temple tour” package. The five nights and six days journey will commence on December 07, 2023 from Kerala’s Kochuveli railway station. The tour will conclude on December 12 at Kochuveli railway station.
During its journey, the train will cover three states – Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The travellers will be able to visit prominent religious and tourist destinations in the tour.
However, the boarding and deboarding of passengers is available at a few selected stations. These are – Kochuveli, Kollam, Senkottai, Tenkasi, Rajapalayam, Sivakasi, Virudhunagar, Madurai Junction, Dindigul, Trichy, Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthurai, Chidabaram, Tripadripuliyur, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Tambaram, Chennai Egmore and Katpadi Junction.

The passengers will be able to visit the following tourist places. These are:
- Udupi: Sri Krishna Temple
- Kollur: Mookambika temple and Murudeshwar temple
- Udupi: Sringeri and Horanadu temple
Seats:-
A total of 768 passengers will be accommodated on this tourist train. The train has 3rd AC and eight Sleeper Class coaches. The train has two types of class – Economy (560) and Comfort (208).
Fare:-
The price of this rail tour package starts at Rs 11,750 per passenger for Economy Class. The fare for Comfort class is Rs 19950 per passenger. This rail tour package includes all travel facilities such as meals, travel insurance, presence of tour managers, accomodation facility and Security on train.
