Indian Railways has announced a major change to the operations of the Udhna-Brahmapur Amrit Bharat Express, increasing the service frequency from weekly to tri-weekly. The move aims to make life easier for passengers travelling between Gujarat and Odisha.

The Udhna-Brahmapur-Udhna Amrit Bharat Express runs as Train number-19021 and 19022, connecting main districts across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Since its launch by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September 2025. The services have played a key role in boosting economic and workplace mobility.

The train was originally launched to support the large Odia community who are living and working in Surat. In its latest update, Western Railway has confirmed that the train will now operate three times a week.


Train No.19021 (Udhna-Brahmapur)-Will run on Sunday, Wednesday, Friday (Effective from 19.11.2025)

Train No.19022 (Brahmapur-Udhna)-Will operate from Monday, Thursday, Saturday (Effective from 20.11.2025)

Bookings for Train No-19021 opened on 16 November 2025 across Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters and the IRCTC website. The sleeper-class for the Udhna-Brahmapur journey continues to be Rs 795.

The train’s 22 coach composition includes general coaches, sleeper coaches, luggage vans and a pantry car. It has multiple stoppages at major stations like Raipur, Bhusaval, Rayagada, Titlagarh, Nandurbar and Jalgaon, providing essential connectivity across five states.

With the shift to a tri-weekly schedule, Indian Railways expects significantly enhanced access for passengers on this route.

Amrit Bharat Express special features

The Amrit Bharat Express is equipped with upgraded safety and comfort features, including CCTV cameras in every coach, LED display boards, charging points, fire-retardant seating, emergency services,  water bottle holders and pantry services. As per PIB, it can carry more than 1,800 passengers, runs at speeds up to 130 kmph. It uses engines at both ends for a smoother and shock-free travel experience.
