With the aim of controlling extra rush during the festive season, the Indian Railways has decided to extend the services of the Northeast Frontier Railway between Katihar and Amritsar and also between Udaipur and Guwahati.

Amritsar to Katihar

Announcing the same, the Indian Railways have decided to increase the services of train number 05734 from Katihar to Amritsar starting from November 4, 2023, till November 25, 2023. While the services have been extended by four days, it will run every Saturday on the said route.

Train number 05733 will start from Amritsar to Katihar from November 6, 2023 to November 27, 2023. The services of this train have also been extended by four days and will also run every Saturday.

Guwahati to Udaipur

Similarly, services of train number 05616 from Guwahati to Udaipur, has been extended by four days from November 5, 2023 to November 26, 2023. Even as the services have been extended by four days, the train will run every Saturday between November 6, 2023 till November . From the opposite direction, other services have been extended by four days from November 8, 2023 to November 29, 2023. Train number 05615 will run every Wednesday.

The trains from both sides will stop at a number of stations, including Kanput Central, Etawah, Shanshabad town, Agra Cantt, Achchnera and Bharatpur. For any further details, passengers can check the official website.

Other routes

Last week, the Delhi Division of Northern Railway announced its decision to operate 327 special trains during the festive season. The step was taken to ensure hassle-free travel for passengers during the Diwali and Chhat festivals.

Sharing details, Sukhvinder Singh, the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Delhi Division, expressed hope that the decision will provide passengers with seamless and secure travel that will address their needs and also ensure a joyous and safe journey.

Trains will cover various locations, including Muzaffarpur, Patna, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, and more. He also informed that Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel had been asked to check the formation of orderly queues for unreserved coach entry.
